5 Easy ways to use Reddit for SEO.

Before I jump to today’s topic, let me tell you a story.

A story about my journey in building a career in Digital Marketing and why it is relatively more difficult today:

Back in 2013, I knew nothing about SEO. I built a website sharing stories about well-known personalities and had to learn SEO as I went along. I managed to grow the site to 50,000 users a month, which landed me my first job. From there, I never looked back.

In 2015, I had zero knowledge of Meta or Google Ads. So, I took a course, worked on projects, and even managed ads for a few brands for free. That experience helped me secure a full-time role managing both SEO and ads.

By 2017, retention marketing was new to me. I teamed up with someone who knew the ropes, learned from them, and soaked up all the knowledge I could. At that point, I didn’t even need to execute because my understanding of SEO, ads, and retention was strong enough to get me promoted to oversee digital marketing strategy.

There will always be people saying, "How will we execute?" If you think like that, you're already behind.

No one is stopping you from building a basic website and starting to execute it.

A person who has gone the extra mile to sharpen their skill will always be a valued talent.

Stop waiting. Dive in and watch the magic happen.

Today’s challenge however is staying updated and executing fast.

New tools, new platforms, the changing nature of platforms, reporting methods, ethical hacks, and industry insights can make it tough to keep up.

I’m working to solve that by giving you real, actionable updates about digital marketing with the help of a new community.

So you can experiment, learn, create content, and have smarter conversations with your boss, team, or clients.

I’ll continue breaking down complex topics like I always do.

Here is what all the community will have.

Would you pay ₹299 or $4/month for such a community?

If so, reply "YES" to this email and help me build it with confidence.

Note; I am still considering whether to launch this, so please take 2 seconds and reply to this email with a YES if you would join. If there is not enough interest in the market, I may not create it.

5 easy ways to use Reddit for SEO

Reddit is all about finding the right subreddit where your audience hangs out. Dive into niche communities, offer real value by answering questions, and sprinkle in your content when it’s relevant.

Example: If you’re into skincare, head to r/skincareaddiction and start sharing tips or answering questions. Once people trust your advice, you can casually drop a link to your blog post about the best routines for clear skin.

Pro Tip: Don’t over-promote! Redditors are quick to spot spam. Be part of the conversation, not just a self-promotion machine.

2. Use Hot Reddit Threads for Content Ideas

Reddit discussions are full of SEO gold. Find trending conversations, see what people are asking about, and create content around those topics.

Example: If people are talking about how to reduce dark circles, you can write a detailed post about it. Join the conversation by summarizing your blog’s key points and include a link for people to read more.

Tip: You can use tools like Google Trends or just Reddit’s search bar to see what’s currently hot.

3. Get Keyword Ideas from Reddit

Reddit can actually help with keyword research! By looking at what real people are talking about, you can discover phrases and questions you wouldn’t have thought of.

Example: If you're in fitness, check out r/fitness or r/bodyweightfitness to see the types of questions being asked. You can build content around those same keywords to make sure you’re speaking your audience’s language.

Tool suggestion: Keyworddit can help pull keyword ideas directly from subreddits.

If you’ve got something useful—like a tool or a resource—share it in relevant subreddits. Redditors love helpful stuff, and if people like what you’re sharing, they might link to it from their own blogs or websites.

Example: Let’s say you’ve developed an SEO toolkit. Share it on r/marketing, and over time, people might start linking back to it in their articles.

Key Tip: Focus on adding value first. The backlinks will follow naturally!

5. Host an AMA to Drive Traffic

AMAs (Ask Me Anything) are a great way to show off your expertise while answering people’s questions in real-time. It’s also a fun way to direct traffic to your site without being pushy.

Example: If you’re an SEO pro, you could host an AMA in r/bigSEO and share some insights on the latest trends. When relevant, you can throw in links to your blog or helpful resources.

Bottom Line:

Reddit is all about community. The key to making Reddit work for your SEO is to be genuine, engage in conversations, and only share links when they truly add value to the discussion.
