6 secret ways I influence you to buy.

Steal it right away!

Ever wondered what makes you say "YES" to certain things?

Like, why did you buy that course, sign up for that newsletter, or pick that particular product? Well, there’s a science behind it, and Dr. Robert Cialdini, the legend of persuasion, cracked the code on this.

He spent his career answering one simple but massive question: When do people say YES?

And the real kicker? Can we make them say YES?

Spoiler alert: Yes, we can! And I’ve used these 6 principles in my own business—from my Dream Performance Marketing Masterclass (which, by the way, is overbooked every time) to campaigns that crush it every day.

Let’s break down these 6 secret weapons of persuasion and how I’ve put them to work.

1. Reciprocity: Give to Get

It’s the good ol' "Do unto others..." rule. If you want someone to give you something, like their time, attention, or money, you gotta give first.

For example, I didn’t just show up one day and ask people to buy my course. Nope. I gave away 100+ free, super valuable videos on SEO, performance marketing, retention strategies—you name it. Then, when I finally asked people to pay for more, they were ready. I mean, why wouldn’t they be?

2. Authority: The Power of Expertise

Ever noticed how doctors in white coats instantly get more trust? That’s authority at work. In the marketing world, the white coat is your track record.

I don’t just say “I’m good at digital marketing.” I show it. Whether it’s Times Internet, Future Group, Tata Brands, Shoppers Stop, Spotify India etc—I let my work do the talking. And if you’re in my closed community, you’ve probably seen me drop some serious results.

Here’s a sneak peek from our WhatsApp group—proof’s in the pudding, right?

3. Consistency: Say It, Stick to It

Consistency is king. People trust those who stick to their word and don’t flip-flop every time there’s a new trend. That’s why my Dream Performance Marketing Masterclass has stayed consistent—same messaging, same tone, same value since Day 1.

I’m not here to throw fear into your face with hype-y sales pitches (although, fear is a pretty powerful motivator, no lie). What I do is stay consistent with my messaging, branding, and promises.

4. Consensus: Social Proof

Humans are herd animals. We like to follow the crowd—especially if the crowd is doing something smart. That’s why social proof works like magic.

Check out my feed, and you’ll see it all over my Dream Performance Marketing Masterclass—testimonials, screenshots, results. When people see others winning, they want in too.

You will always find such posts on my feed or stories. Remember the carousel I posted on the messages I got on Guru Purnima? No? Go find it out on my feed. (If you are not a native Indian- Guru Purnima is celebrated to honour teachers and mentors).

The posts with testimonials (Social proof)

5. Scarcity: Fear of Missing Out

Nobody wants to miss out. Period. When something feels limited, we’re hardwired to want it even more. That’s why scarcity is so powerful.

In my campaigns, I don’t just talk about what you’ll gain by joining. I also highlight what you’ll lose if you don’t. People are naturally scared of missing out, and that pushes them to take action.

Like, you would have seen these stories on my Instagram. Getting the first 5 signups for this masterclass takes time, and then scarcity drives the overbooking.

6. Liking: Being Likeable Pays

The simple truth? People say YES to people they like. And what makes someone likeable? Being relatable, giving compliments, and working toward a common goal together.

There are close to 1 million digital marketers in India (as per unvalidated resources).

The point is- standing out isn’t easy. But once you’ve got a solid base, the network effect kicks in, and people start liking and trusting you more.

And I like to think you’re here, reading this, because you already like what I’m putting out there. 😊

That’s it for today!

Oh, and by the way, I’m working on a brand new community where I’ll break all this down even further.
